'Steel' kicks off Freeport Theatre's 20th summer
LEECHBURG — A new historical drama from Rennick Steele will open the Freeport Theatre Festival's 20th summer season. Steele also directs the show.
"Cauldron of Steel," which opens Friday, is about immigrants who came to America to work in the new steel mill in Vandergrift. The play reflects the willingness of people to sacrifice everything in search of a better life for their families.
Curtain is at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and July 17 to 19 and 24 to 26 at the barn theater at 2498 White Cloud Road.
Tickets are $12 for general admission and $10 for senior citizens and students.
A pre-theatre dinner is available at River Forest Country Club, with seatings at 5 and 5:30 p.m. Reservations are necessary and available by calling 724-295-2298.
