Did anyone see the recent editorial in the Eagle about the recent negotiating session in South Butler? The teachers RAISED their salary demand again? I agree with the editorial writer, how is this thing ever going to get settled if they have that kind of attitude? I have read the boards offer, and it is generous. Total of $8875 in raises over the 5 year period. $20 per month contribution towards health insurance($30 for family). The health care benefit is HUGE. Average premium copay in the private sector is 20%, which for a family plan can be $250 or more per month. The board also wants a 7.5 hour workday. Right now it is actually less than that.
