Commissioners hire firm to analyze options for Sunnyview
The Butler County commissioners today selected a Pittsburgh accounting firm to conduct an analysis of what the county should do with Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Carbis Walker will do the study for $15,000, plus out-of-pocket expenses. The analysis will cover the options of a possible sale, private sector lease or reorganization.
The commissioners earlier this year opted to have the analysis done because of Sunnyview's net deficit.
Under the 2009 county budget, Sunnyview is projected to have a $1 million loss.
Commissioner Dale Pinkerton, board chairman, stressed the county is not necessarily looking to immediately sell Sunnyview, nor change the management structure currently in place.
The analysis is expected to take four weeks.
