The American Coaster Enthusiasts was founded in 1978 for the purpose of enjoying and preserving roller coasters.

More than 6,000 members belong to the Ohio-based nonprofit group, represented in all 50 states and more than a dozen countries.

On a national level, ACE hosts three multiday amusement park gatherings each year in addition to "nonriding" educational seminars.

About 50 one-day riding events are also hosted on the regional level.
