NEW YORK — Chase Utley led off the 11th inning with his second homer of the game, minutes after right fielder Jayson Werth saved Philadelphia with a diving catch, and the Phillies beat New York 5-4 Wednesday night.

Utley's third homer in two nights came on the second pitch from Bobby Parnell (2-1), handing the hard-throwing rookie his first big league loss.

Philadelphia rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the seventh and dealt the Mets their sixth loss this season after they led by at least three runs.

Chan Ho Park (2-1) worked two scoreless innings for the win.

The Mets stranded a season-high 16 runners, eight from innings seven through 10. Still, they nearly won it when David Wright hit the two-out liner into the right-center gap in the 10th that Werth caught.

Giants 6, Diamondbacks 4

PHOENIX — Bengie Molina homered and drove in three runs for San Francisco and Brian Wilson struck out the side for his seventh straight save.

Molina hit a two-run homer in a four-run third inning as the Giants took a 5-1 lead against Doug Davis (3-7). Molina added an RBI single in the ninth.

Padres 3, Dodgers 1

LOS ANGELES — San Diego's Kevin Correia retired his final 15 batters during a sterling six-inning performance on three days' rest.

Correia (3-4) did not allow a baserunner after giving up a leadoff single in the second inning to Rafael Furcal. The right-hander threw 81 pitches, allowing one run and four hits with no walks in his 58th career start.

One night after hitting four solo homers against Chris Young, the defending NL West champion Dodgers managed only four singles against Correia.

Astros 2, Cubs 1

HOUSTON — Geoff Blum singled in the winning run with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth for Houston.

The Cubs wasted a dominant start from Carlos Zambrano, who allowed a run and three hits through eight innings.

Cardinals 13, Marlins 4

MIAMI — Rick Ankiel finished a single shy of the cycle and Colby Rasmus also homered as St. Louis snapped a five-game losing streak.

The Cardinals scored their season high runs on 18 hits. It was the most runs scored by St. Louis since Aug. 18, 2008, at Atlanta in an 18-3 win.

Rockies 4, Brewers 2

MILWAUKEE — Troy Tulowitzki and Brad Hawpe homered and Jorge De La Rosa (2-6) finally beat his old team, lifting Colorado to its seventh straight win.

Brewers starter Dave Bush (3-3) gave up a two-out solo homer in the fourth to Tulowitzki and three straight doubles in the fifth. Hawpe homered off reliever Seth McClung in the seventh to make it 4-2.

Reds 4, Nationals 2

WASHINGTON — Pinch-hitter Jonny Gomes hit a tiebreaking RBI double with two out in the 12th inning for Cincinnati.

Jay Bruce walked to lead off the 12th and Alex Gonzalez reached when Ron Villone (3-1) botched his sacrifice attempt. Bruce moved to third on a passed ball.

Jason Bergmann got Ryan Hanigan to ground into a double play but Gomes followed with his hit to left. Jerry Hairston Jr. added an RBI single.

Red Sox 6, Yankees 5

BOSTON — Mike Lowell and Kevin Youkilis homered as Boston improved to 7-0 against New York this season with a 6-5 victory.

The Red Sox have beaten the Yankees eight straight times dating to the last game of last season — their longest winning streak against their longtime rivals since 1912.

Tim Wakefield (8-3) beat the Yankees for the second straight time after losing to them in nine of his previous 10 decisions. Jonathan Papelbon pitched the ninth for his 15th save.

Tigers 2, White Sox 1

CHICAGO — Detroit's Justin Verlander (7-2) pitched a six-hitter for his first victory ever at U.S. Cellular Field.

Jim Thome hit his 552nd home run and John Danks pitched 7Z\c strong innings, but the White Sox still fell 6Z\x games behind AL Central-leading Detroit. Adam Everett homered for the Tigers, who have won five of their last six games.

OAKLAND, Calif. — Pinch-hitter Jason Kubel hit a tying solo homer in the eighth and Delmon Young singled home the go-ahead run in the ninth for Minnesota.

Rays 9, Angels 5

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Carlos Pena and Willy Aybar homered and Tampa Bay stopped a three-game losing streak.

Pena hit a solo homer in the third inning and Aybar added a two-run shot off John Lackey (1-2) for a 9-5 lead in the fifth. Aybar had an RBI single in Tampa Bay's five-run second against Lackey, who had won nine of 10 previous decisions against Tampa Bay.

CLEVELAND — Gil Meche tied a career high with 11 strikeouts over seven innings and Kansas City hit three home runs.

Mariners 4, Orioles 1

BALTIMORE — Jose Lopez homered twice and Felix Hernandez pitched seven solid innings for Seattle.
