BHS grad is Butler County Junior Miss
Jaime Ann "Annie" Rosellini was named Butler County Junior Miss Saturday during the annual scholarship competition at Butler County Community College's Succop Theater.
She was awarded a $5,000 cash scholarship along with other goods and services including paid entry to the state competition Aug. 8 in Johnstown.
The state winner will advance in June 2010 to America's Junior Miss program in Mobile, Ala.
Rosellini is the daughter of Jaime and LouAnn Rosellini of Butler. She was the Class of 2009 treasurer at Butler High School, where she also belonged to the National Society of High School Scholars and the Sequinettes dance team. She did a lyrical dance performance to "Let it Be" by The Beatles.
She competed against nine others in the areas of interview, scholastic achievement, fitness, talent and poise.
Those contestants include first runner-up Taylor Green and second runner-up Rosel Nesbitt.
Green is a student at Butler High School and the daughter of Alisa Green and Ralph McElhaney, both of Butler. She did a contemporary dance performance to "Beautiful Disaster" by Kelly Clarkson.Nesbitt is a student at Butler High School and the daughter of Scott and Susan Nesbitt of Butler. She played "Saxophobia" by Rudy Wiedoft on the alto saxophone.Other winners include Nesbitt for the Scholastic award; Jenna Smaldino, Interview award; Rosellini, Talent, Fitness and HealthyButler.com awards; Rachel Brown, Self-Expression award, Kristie Dash, Spirit award and Michelle Clay, Community Service award.Advertising incentive awards went to Rosellini, Michelle Clay and Devon Herbert. Ticket sale awards went to Rosellini and Nesbitt.
