Stars will come out at Sarver track Fri.
The stars are in alignment for Lernerville Speedway's All-Star Circuit Sprint show Friday.
Three former track champions, all of whom have won a World of Outlaws Sprint show, as well as an All-Star main event, will go back to their roots, renew their friendships and compete once again for supremacy.
Tim Shaffer, Dale Blaney and Ed Lynch Jr. started their racing careers at Lernerville in the 1980s. Shaffer and Blaney eventually went on to the World of Outlaws and later competed with the All-Star Sprints.
Shaffer, the last Lernerville All-Star show victor, is the current series points leader. Over his career, the Steel City Outlaw has taken seven career wins at the track.
Blaney is fresh off his first Outlaws victory at Attica Speedway last Friday and an All-Star win at Eldora the following night, earning him a total of $18,000. Blaney has one Lernerville All-Star win in 1996 and eight wins at the track.
Lynch runs occasionally with both groups and is approaching the 100-win mark at Lernerville.
Add other track champs like Rod George and Kevin Schaffer to the mix, and it is shaping up to be a dynamite race.

• After 14 year of promoting Challenger Raceway, Jack and Donna Lentz made the difficult decision to close the track. One of their most successful promotions was a three-day event called Fall Fest. As the years went by, campers planned their vacations around this event and people from as far as Canada would attend. The pits were bulging with more 200 cars.
Jack and Donna couldn't let this event die, so they have passed the baton to the Mileys at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway and a Super Late Model show will be created the in September. The Mileys will combine Challenger's star event, the Ultimate Fall Fest, with their Pittsburgher for one mammoth extravaganza Sept. 17 to 19.
This event will pay $10,000 each to win, with a bonus of $10,000 being offered to any driver who can garner both features, pushing grand total feature payoff to a possible $30,000.
• A blockbuster doubleheader will be featured at Pennsylvania Motor Speedway's Penn Nationals Saturday night. • The United Auto Racing Club National Sprint Car Series will bring nonwinged racing to Mercer Raceway Park Saturday for the first time. The 30-lap feature will pay $5,000 to win, $400 to start. Western Pennsylvania racers Arnie Kent and Charlie Holben have prepared nonwinged cars.
