Ken McMurdy
In loving memory of our beloved dad, Ken McMurdy, who passed away one year ago today.
Dear Dad,
It's so hard to believe that a year has gone by without you.
We've made it through this year thanks to family and friends that have been there to support us, but it hasn't always been easy.
The sun has come up to begin each new day, even though it didn't always seem like it should.
After all, how could anything go on without you?
It's been a year without the man we considered not just a father, but also one of our greatest teachers and, perhaps above all, one of our greatest friends.
You were a man who truly and completely enjoyed life.
I think you tried to show all of us how to do the same.
You were interested in so many things that sometimes it was difficult for us to keep up with you.
The world was a better place while you were here.
This could be seen in the way that your smile or your laughter and the stories you told could brighten any room.
We were told so many times that your laughter was contagious.
Oh was that true!
Looking back we realize how the simplest of things in life seemed spectacular with you around to make them that way.
Again, we think this is something you tried to pass on to each one of us.
There are many things in our lives that we are thankful for.
We just wish you were still here to enjoy it all right along with us.
There are things about each of your grandchildren that remind us of you.
We thank God for those little reminders but, still, we wish you were here to share in our joy over these precious little ones.
That's what it all comes down to; we wish we were all together again - our family.
We'd be hearing your laughter, seeing your smile and knowing that you'd always be there to make everything alright.
