Richard Skibicki
Richard Skibicki, 78, of Buffalo Township passed away peacefully at 12:29 p.m. Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Richard was born in the Birdville section of Natrona Heights, March 31, 1931, the son of the late Waclaw (Walter) and Zophia (Rudnicki) Skibicki.
He was a member of the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Freeport.
He worked as a truck driver, crane man and a roll turner at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge for 42 years. He retired in 1993.
Mr. Skibicki was a social member of the Freeport VFW, the Natrona Heights VFW, the Brackenridge American Legion, the Tarentum Eagles, the Tarentum Moose Lodge, the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department, the United Steelworkers of America Pensioners Club and the Polish Roman Catholic Union.
Richard enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, deep sea fishing, polka dancing, going to camp at Snow Shoe and spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by his three daughters, Phyllis (Jim) Hudak of Freeport, Linda L. (Thomas) Vozar of Leechburg and Marlene (Bob Angus) Thoma of Natrona; a son, Walter N. (Beth) Skibicki of Chicora; and a brother, Robert (Della) Skibicki of Massillon, Ohio. He also is survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. (Swartzlander) Skibicki, who passed in 1999; his two brothers, and his five sisters.
<B>SKIBICKI</B> Family and friends of Richard Skibicki, who died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, are being received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. A parting prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial at the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Freeport, with Father Edward Volz officiating.
