PITTSBURGH — Nearly 300 slot machines have been delivered to Pittsburgh's planned casino, including one device capable of accepting a $500 wager.

General manager Ed Fasulo says the $500 machine is the first of its kind in the state.

The 278 machines delivered Monday are the first of 3,000 to be installed at The Rivers Casino along the north shore of the Allegheny River, just west of PNC Park and Heinz Field.

The casino is scheduled to open Aug. 5.

About 43 percent of the casino's machines will accept penny or two-cent wagers. The casino will also have virtual blackjack and roulette machines.

Officials say about 85 percent of the casino's 120,000-square-foot floor has been completed.
