Robert "Bob" Lee Peterson Sr., 71, of Portersville passed away early Tuesday morning in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 31, 1937, in West Field, N.Y., and was the son of George and Mary Jane (Cochran) Peterson.

He was a retired union carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters' Union Local 2274.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Lunn Peterson, who he married May 9, 1960; one son, Robert (Shelly) Peterson Jr. of Prospect; two daughters, Kathy (Dean) Jenny of Rochester and Kim (Scott) Hoffman of Boyers; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Megan, Rocky, Clinton, Shelby, Carolyn, Bailey and Tyler; and one great-granddaughter, Avah.

He also is survived by a twin brother, Richard "Dick" Peterson of Princeton, and two brothers, Michael Peterson of Portersville and Carl Peterson of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Colt Jenny, and a sister, Patricia Zeller.

<B>PETERSON</B> Family and friends of Robert "Bob" Lee Peterson Sr., who died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with his nephew, Pastor Ron Nagel of the New Life Baptist Church officiating.
