Howard S. Macurdy
Howard S. Macurdy, 90, of Butler died Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.
Born Aug. 21, 1918, in Sarver, he was the son of Walter and Maude (Hesselgesser) Macurdy.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Aleutian Islands.
He was a millwright for Armco, retiring in 1980 after 40 years.
He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and the Saxonburg VFW.
Surviving are two sons, Edward (Barbara) Macurdy and David (Patricia) Macurdy, both of Butler; his daughter, Carol (David) St. Cyr of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren, Alan, Darla, Kelly, Ashley, Amy, John, Karen and Janet; and two great-grandsons, Aidan and Dane.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Elsie (Coffman) Macurdy, on Nov. 18, 1994, and three brothers.
<B>MACURDY </B> Friends of Howard S. Macurdy, who died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Judd officiating.
