SLIPPERY ROCK - The Old Stone House will be the site of a Native American powwow from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 2 and 3.Dancing, storytelling, tomahawk throwing and falconry will all be part of the free entertainment provided by People of the Forest and All Nations Gathering.Traditional powwow drums will be played by the Muddy Creek Singers. EAST FRANKLIN - Bret Michaels, who grew up for a time in Butler, and his band will perform May 2 at the Belmont Arena on their Rock of Love Tour 2009.Famed as the lead singer of the 1980s rock band Poison, Michaels has most recently been seen as the star of VH1's "Rock of Love" television show.The May 2 concert will raise money for two charitable organizations: the Armstrong County YMCA and the Burnt Ridge Bow and Gun Club.Doors will open at 7 p.m., and seating is general admission. PITTSBURGH - The Society for Contemporary Craft's summer season will begin with a major exhibition featuring 14 Latin American artists and a wealth of companion programming."Beyond Shared Language: Contemporary Art and the Latin American Experience" will open May 1 and continue through Aug. 29.
