Glenda L. Plummer

Glenda Louise (Ketterer) Plummer, 63, of New Brighton went home to be with the Lord Sunday following a courageous battle with cancer.

Glenda was born May 26, 1945, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Dale and Sarah (Nelson) Ketterer.

She was a graduate of New Brighton School of Nursing and was in the nursing profession for more than 20 years. Glenda retired from the Medical Center in Beaver in 2001. She was a longtime member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses.

Glenda also served as a volunteer with CONTACT Crisis Center of Beaver County.

Glenda was the founding member and Queen Mother of the Red Hat Light House Ladies organization. She was a member of Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church and also the Christian Singles Fellowship.

In her leisure, Glenda enjoyed building puzzles and reading.

Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Dale “Newt” Ketterer, who died March 1, 2009, and her mother, Sarah “Sally” (Nelson) Ketterer, who died May 9, 2006.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jennette Plummer; two grandchildren, Sarah and Thomas Plummer; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walt and Alice Ketterer and Dale and Pamela Ketterer, all of New Brighton.

PLUMMER — Friends of Glenda Louise (Ketterer) Plummer, who died Sunday, March 15, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, 273 Route 68, Rochester, adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. Her service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.Memorial contributions may be directed to the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Monaca, PA 15061; or to CONTACT Crisis Center, P.O. Box 428, Beaver, PA 15009, in loving memory of Glenda Plummer.
