BUTLER TWP Three-time Golden Gloves heavyweight champion Paul Zalus will have a new opponent for his pro boxing debut Friday night at the Butler Days Inn.

Zalus' original opponent, Damian Clement (0-1) of Dayton, Ohio, injured his nose sparring and pulled out of the fight. His new foe will be Jason Massey (2-0), a 6-foot-5, 280-pound fighter from Cleveland. Zalus is 6-5, 250 pounds.

The fight is one of two pro bouts on the undercard of the Brian Minto-Matt Greer main event. Eight amateur fights are also on the card.

HARRISBURG Beth Hildebrand of the Butler Archers won the Woman's Unlimited A class recently at the Pennsylvania State Archery Indoor Championship Shoot held at the State Farm Show Complex.Hildebrand shot a 1,117 for the two days in winning her first state championship. She has now jumped to the AA class.Kristofer Matus finished second in the Cadet A class with a 909 and also jumped to AA. Dawn Patsy finished third in the Woman's Unlimited AA class with a 1,175.

SLIPPERY ROCK Despite four goals and an assist from Casey Quinn, Slippery Rock University's women's lacrosse team fell to Notre Dame College (Ohio) 15-10 Tuesday.Katie Roof and Amy Halls both added a pair of scores for The Rock (4-10).
