Mercyhurst College defeated the Slippery Rock University baseball team 3-2 in eight innings, then completed the sweep with a 6-0 victory in the nightcap.

John Blike's home run in the bottom of the eighth inning was the difference for the Lakers while Nick Gillung pitched a three-hitter in Game 2 for Mercyhurst (23-12, 10-4).

The Rock (25-11, 11-7) dropped to third in the PSAC West.

Adam Jury's RBI single and Matt Kosik's solo home run accounted for SRU's lone runs. The Rock stranded nine runners in Game 1.
