Jerome S. Huberman
Jerome "Jerry" S. Huberman, 79, of the Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday at the Grove City Medical Center following a short illness.
Born March 27, 1929, in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of David Huberman and Gertrude Becker Huberman.
He worked on Long Island, N.Y., at First Impressions Lithography, and in Plainview, N.Y., in printing sales for printing/advertisements.
He attended Truman State in Branson, Mo.
He was a member of the Israel Community Center in Long Island, where he was active in the Men's Club and a former president.
He enjoyed boating and playing tennis. He was a breeder of dachshund dogs. He attended and entered his dogs into competition in various dog shows, where he won national awards.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving in Austria. He held the rank of corporal.
Surviving are his spouse, Marilyn Huberman of Grove City; two sons and their spouses, Alan F. and Leah Huberman of Lindenhurst, N.Y., and Charles E. and Deborah Huberman of Oakdale, N.Y.; a brother, Barry Huberman of Long Island; and a daughter and her husband, Beth E. and Timothy J. Campbell of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, David, Joshua, Jarred and Joseph Huberman, Jessica and Katie Riggs, and Samantha Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
<B>HUBERMAN</B> — A funeral service for Jerome "Jerry" S. Huberman, who died Saturday, March 7, 2009, was observed Sunday at the Star of David Memorial Chapel Inc., West Babylon, N.Y. Interment immediately followed in the New Montefiore Cemetery, Babylon, Suffolk County, N.Y.Local arrangements were handled by the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, Slippery Rock.
