George E. Duncan

George Edward Duncan, 89, of 400 Levis Road, Portersville, passed away at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Ellwood City Hospital.

Mr. Duncan was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Perry Township to the late Alfred B. Duncan and Leah Gallaher Duncan.

George had attended Portersville High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He was a proud World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army military police as a sergeant.

George worked for the U.S. Steel tube mill in Ellwood City, the Aetna Standard Engineering Co., the Ellwood City Forge and retired from Halstead Metals in Zelienople with more than 30 years of service.

Also, George enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing the piano and was a sweet, loving, joyous man with a strong Christian faith.

Mr. Duncan is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Duncan and Marge Cerelli, both of Perry Township; and several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Scrivo Duncan; three brothers, William L., John and Alfred Duncan; one sister, Mable Clancey; and a special friend, Noreen Malutich.

<B>DUNCAN</B> — Visitation for George Edward Duncan, who died Saturday, March 7, 2009, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Samuel Teolis Funeral home Inc.</B>, 309 Spring Ave., Ellwood City, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Berean Presbyterian Church of America. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Bruce Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Zelienople Cemetery Mausoleum.Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are to meet at the church by 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to conduct full military rites.The family requests you view the obituary and sign the guest book at www.teolisfuneralhome.com.
