Vincent L. Fallecker
Vincent L. Fallecker, 85, of Butler died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 12, 1923, in Swissvale, he was a son of the late Joseph D. and Rose A. (Hoag) Fallecker.
He had worked as a welder for the Pullman Standard Car Co. in Butler for 30 years until the plant closed and also for Alexander Mill Service in Prospect until his retirement.
He was a member of the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler, American Legion Post 117, the Happy Hunters, the Sinnemahoning Sportsmen's Club, Camp Nine in Cameron County, and also belonged to the Happy Hunters and county horseshoe leagues.
Vince was a life member of Butler Moose Lodge 64, an honorary life member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he had served with the U.S. Army, where he received a certificate for participating in the Battle of the Bulge.
Surviving are his children, Bernadette (Dess) Schnur of Butler, Judy (Denny) Pappalard of Allison Park, Vincent M. (Mary) Fallecker and Eric L. (Beth) Fallecker, both of Tucson, Ariz., Rose Marie Fallecker of East Butler, Douglas (Kim) Fallecker of Fenelton, Lewis Fallecker, Donna Fallecker, Joyce Schnur and Paula (Craig) Brady, all of Butler, Rick (Vivian) Julius and Jeff Julius, both of Fenelton, Susie (Jim) Rieger of West Sunbury, and Cindy (Bob) Miller of Butler; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two brothers, Cletus (Betty) Fallecker of Butler and Paul (Dolores) Fallecker of Cameron County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol I. (Smith) Fallecker, whom he married May 22, 1978. She died Oct. 12, 1995. He also was preceded by his first wife, Germaine (Morin) Fallecker, who died Feb. 12, 1964; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; three sisters; and six brothers.
<B>FALLECKER </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Vincent L. Fallecker, who died Friday, March 6, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, North Main Street Ext. The Rev. James Salberg, pastor, will officiate.
