MARS To celebrate National Library Week April 13 through 18, the Mars Library will hold the following events at the library, 107 Grand Ave.:
• Amnesty week by forgiving fines all week.
• A magic and music program by Robin Kelly, 1 to 1:45 p.m. April 15. Registration is required by calling 724-625-9048.
• Bring a book take a book. Children can donate one or two used books to the library and can select one from the library to keep, April 15.
• Movie days Participants can borrow one adult and one children's video without charge, April 16 through 18.
BUTLER TWP The Lifesteps Child Check team will conduct free child developmental screenings from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 16 at Haine Elementary School, 1516 Haine School Road, Cranberry Township and from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 21 at Center Avenue Elementary School, 102 Lincoln Ave., Butler.Lifesteps Child Check is a free screening service for all children from birth to 5 years of age.The 30-minute screenings look at the child's development in playing, talking, seeing, hearing, moving and thinking.Appointments are recommended but not required. PENN TWP The GFWC Penn Township Woman's Club will host a fashion show and lunch April 18 at Butler Country Club. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon.The event also will include a basket auction. GREENTREE The Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society will hold its spring seminar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 18 at the Holiday Inn in Greentree.George Schweitzer will lecture on military genealogical research, tracing ancestors across the Atlantic and Pennsylvania genealogical research.Reservations are required by April 10.
