John A. DiCarlo
John A. DiCarlo, 78, of Arrowhead Road, Emlenton, Allegheny Township, Butler County, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday evening at the Grove City Medical Center following an illness.
Born July 28, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Albert and Mary Petfacci DiCarlo.
Mr. DiCarlo was retired from Mesta Machine Co. in Hazelwood and had also been employed at the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas.
He was a Roman Catholic by faith and had been member of the Holy Angels and St. Stephen Catholic churches in Pittsburgh. He later became a member of the Barkeyville United Methodist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and craft making.
Mr. DiCarlo is survived by his wife, Helen Ferry DiCarlo, whom he married Nov. 12, 1948, in Memphis, Tenn. Also surviving are four sons, John A.F. DiCarlo Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Nitro, W.Va., Daniel DiCarlo and his wife, Karen, of Crosslanes, W.Va., James A. DiCarlo and his wife, Kelly, of Emlenton and Albert A. DiCarlo of Nitro; a daughter, Lisa M. Balunsat and her husband, Craig, of Chesapeake City, Md.; 17 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. A sister, Linda DiCarlo of Pittsburgh; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by a son, David J. DiCarlo, who died Oct. 28, 1978.

DiCarlo, who died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday at the <B>Hile Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Barkeyville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson, church pastor, officiating.
