Ferne L. Day, 72, of Herman passed away Thursday at her home.

Born June 14, 1936, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Joseph and Camilla Rose Knauer Schiebel.

She was a traffic control supervisor for American Traffic Safety Services in Colorado.

Ferne was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Herman, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company.

She enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by a number of cousins.

Day, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church.
