Mary 'Weezie' Opalka
Mary Louise "Weezie" (Dodds) Opalka, 88, formerly of Ford City, died Monday at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.
Born Dec. 11, 1920, in McGrann, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret McGregor Dodds.
She was a homemaker and also was a cafeteria worker at Lenape Elementary.
Mrs. Opalka was a member of Ford Memorial United Methodist Church, Ford City.
She was a volunteer at the Ford City Public Library and the ACMH Hospital snack bar.
She loved reading and walking her dog, and she had a passionate love for animals.
She is survived by her children, James (Paula) Opalka of Butler, Pam Reany of Connellsville and Daniel "Strap" Opalka of Ford City; and three grandchildren, Melissa and Rachel Opalka and Dan Reany.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Opalka on April 22, 1973; four brothers, William, John, George and James Dodds; and a son-in-law, Burton Reany.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford Memorial United Methodist Church, Ford City, with the Rev. Craig Peterson officiating.
