CRANBERRY TWP — People interested in learning more about their families and uncovering pieces of their lineage will have the opportunity to learn how to get started at the April program of the Cranberry Genealogy Club.

Speaker Tim Roscoe will present the program "Who Am I and How Did I Get Here? An Introduction to Genealogy," at 7 p.m. April 22 in the Cranberry Public Library's conference room.

Roscoe said his presentation will focus on organizing the search and finding sources, including the use of the Internet and other databases.

"This is a beginner's session for people that are just getting started," he said.

Roscoe, who got interested in genealogy through a relative nearly a decade ago, is the club's president.

"It's (genealogy) like trying to solve a puzzle by gathering pieces from all over the world. The difference is that you don't know what the puzzle is going to look like and you will never be done," he said.

Roscoe learned through his investigations that even though he was an only child, his family tree has more than 900 people.

The club has meetings on the fourth Wednesday of the month, except for December. Dues for the club is $10 annually and membership runs from Nov. 1 to Oct. 31.
