Matt Adams had five hits in seven at-bats and five RBI Friday to lead the Slippery Rock University baseball team to an 8-1, 9-6 doubleheader sweep against Gannon.

Adams had four RBI in Game 1, during which he hit his team-leading seventh home run. He improved his batting average to .500 and helped SRU improve to 13-7, 3-3 in the PSAC-West.

Derek Diruscia had three hits and four RBI, and Adam Jury added three RBI.

Billy Messer (Slippery Rock High) and Rich Michalek each had three hits that keyed The Rock's 22-hit doubleheader output.
