In March 1970 at Seneca Valley Senior High School, more than 100 Scouts had fun learning to swim, passing their achievement tests and earning lifesaving and swimming merit badges. Scouts from numerous Butler County units participated. At front, Tom McKinney, swimming instructor of Evans City Boy Scout Troop 399, shows 11-year-old Bernie Smith of the same troop how to float. The instruction took place at the last of 10 weekly sessions at the school pool.
