DUBOIS — Three Butler County basketball players will participate in the 10th annual Alice R. Kozel Foundation District 9 All-Star Games March 28 at Penn State-DuBois.

The girls game, featuring Moniteau's Maura McCaslin and Karns City's Ashley Campbell, will begin at 4 p.m. Moniteau's Mark Yeager will be coaching in the game.

The boys game, featuring Moniteau's Tyler Armagost, will be played at 6.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four members of the Tae Kwon Do America Plus martial arts school competition team medaled in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Martial Arts Classic.Tae Kwon Do America Plus has schools in Slippery Rock and New Castle.Nicolas Zarilla (camo belt) won gold in weapons, silver in form, Mitchel Grossman (black belt) won gold in forms, Josh Strobel (yellow belt) won silver in point sparring, bronze in forms, and Austin McClelland (red-black belt) won bronze in forms.

CALIFORNIA, Pa.— The Tornado Volleyball Club 17-and-under team won a 12-team tournament at California (Pa.)University last weekend.Team members, all from Butler, include Chelsea Pallone, Lyndsy Wittebort, Amanda Huey, Brynn Maxwell, Amanda Skidmore, Hannah Williams and Abbie Druschel. Kelly Erdos coaches the squad.The club's next tournament is March 21 in Elizabeth.

SLIPPERY ROCK— Slippery Rock University senior post player Sasha Sales was named second team All-PSACWest in women's basketball.Sales averaged 10.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for The Rock (11-16, 6-8).
