I haven't viewed Amesh as sarcastic or insulting. We can all have different oppinions. If we didn't we'd miss the fun of this forum.

The issue of history is always debatable because it depends on the point of view of the person recording history. For example, if a crime occurs and the police question three witness, their stories will have similarities but also differences. One person may say the suspect was tall, the other may say average or etc. It's like in history when wars ended today but the troops didn't find out until another day and shots were fired. To those in DC it ended the day it was declared over but if you were one of the troops it ended the day the last shot was fired. See what I mean. Point of view and a recorders place in history can make a difference. My dad's family had farms and lived in a small close knit community so their stories of the depression era isn't the same as someone who lived in a city. They had the basics they needed. Many people weren't that lucky. Different areas would have seen the effects at different times and different intensities. Political history and cultural history aren't always in synce The political end and the cultural end of the depression might not be at the exact same time but with polital it is easier to define when an event happened because there are documents such as treaties. There can be more than one answer depending what your going by.
