Cameron Daugherty captured the pole vault to lead the Slippery Rock University men's track and field team at its outdoor opener at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.

Daugherty defeated 17 other vaulters by clearing 4.75 meters. The height is a PSAC qualifying mark and just .05 meters off an NCAA provisional qualifying standard.

The Rock lost 6-0 to Coker and 4-2 to Francis Marion in the nightcap Friday in Florence, S.C.Jordan Zeunges had a triple, the lone extra-base hit for The Rock (4-4) in Game 1. In the second game, Jessica Kortz went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Sheree Horvath belted a solo home run.
