SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Piano Trio will commemorate "A Trio of Anniversaries" when it salutes the 200th anniversary of the birth of Felix Mendelssohn, the 200th anniversary of the death of Franz Joseph Haydn and the 60th anniversary of the death of Spanish composer Joaquin Turina.

The annual concert, set for 4 p.m. March 15 in Swope Music Hall on the SRU campus, will benefit the Dwight and Jeane Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The trio features Nanette Kaplan Solomon, professor of music, on piano; Paula Tuttle, music instructor, on cello; and Warren Davidson, music instructor, on violin.

The minimum admission donation is $10 for the general public and $5 for students. Donations to the scholarship exceeding the minimum are tax deductible.

PITTSBURGH — Steel Valley Arts Council presents a monthlong exhibition of artwork produced by 10 middle school students who participated in History Through Art workshops taught by professional artists.All the artwork produced in various media during the series of six workshops will be shown in SVAC's gallery Artspace 105 at the south end of the Grays Bridge at 105 E.
