Eric, I hear what your saying. I think part of the problem is that we hold people in positions like that to a higher standard because they work for the public and everything for the public is scrutinized. That is why you have to be on top of your game all the time. I don't think that just because someone gets a DUI that they are trash or a worthless person, I do think they are irresponsible and need to wake up. It can happen to any of us.They just aren't playing games anymore. Too many innocent people are being killed. That is why the penalties are stiff. Society is saying enough is enough.In the situation you are speaking about it was bigger than just some nobody off the street. He was part of the trusted circle, thus it made for a big story. Remember the bigger the fish the bigger the story. More publicity sells papers and it raises awareness to the problem. Those are the breaks when you put yourself in stupid situations.
