A Memorial Tribute Kenneth W. Clawson
January 17, 1989
Dear Dad,
We can't believe your passing has been 20 long years
And through the many days we still cry our tears
Our lives keep growing and changing and moving on
Even though you're not here and you have been gone.
The warmth of your love is still in our hearts
Yet I know we are miles and miles apart
So many times we think we see your face
Its gentleness, compassion and simple grace.
You would be so proud of us, we cannot lie
We see you in our children by and by
Their awkward smiles, and quirks and waves of a hand
It is all from you and in their bodies it stands.
Luke uses his hands every day as you did
He is now a man and you only knew him as a kid
Leah stands tall, your height she has gained
A beautiful woman her sweetness she has maintained.
You last saw Emily as a little bundle of joy
She is quiet like you and oh so coy
Abbey came next and we see you in her art
She sketches and paints and has your talent as her part.
Paul's children came later after you were gone
David, Grant and Victoria don't know you but live on
They are active and funny and Paul's a great dad
He wishes you were there to give what you could add.
Mom yearns the most and tries not to show it
Her love is so strong and we know it won't quit
She has been there for all of us through thick and thin
I know you two will reunite when the gates let her in.
