ALIQUIPPA — Federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh said they broke up a violent crack cocaine ring headed by the nephew of former Pitt star and Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Dorsett.

Authorities said 31-year-old Anthony Dorsett of Aliquippa and 12 others sold crack and powder cocaine since 2003. An indictment unsealed Tuesday detailed the operation as authorities arrested most of the suspects. They say Dorsett had previously been arrested Saturday in West Virginia.

The drug trafficking was centered in the Linmar Terrace public housing complex in Aliquippa.

Tony Dorsett starred at neighboring Hopewell High School before attending Pitt where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1976.
