HARMONY — The annual Giving Tree at the Harmony Museum provides a Christmas season opportunity for individuals, families and businesses to support museum improvements and activities.Each tax-deductible gift of $10 places a red ball ornament bearing the donor's name on the lighted live tree. It stands in the garden area created this year by museum volunteers in the former yard next to the museum's Mercer Street entrance.Giving Tree gifts may be sent to Historic Harmony, Box 524, Harmony, PA 16037. This is the fundraiser's 14th year.

HARMONY — Historic Harmony has republished the book "Window on the Past, a Look Back at 19th Century Life in Harmony and Zelienople," and produced a 2009 wall calendar illustrated with local historical images. The limited editions are available from the Harmony Museum gift shop."Window," by Shelby Ruch, has been out of print for a decade. It presents 24 articles published in the News Weekly newspaper when both boroughs celebrated their incorporation sesquicentennials in 1990. A 25th article, describing development of Jackson Township roads, appeared originally in the Butler Eagle.
