Shirley,

You would have been 26 this year! The same age I was when I had Alex! So when we go to your favorite restaurant tonight, and I'll look at an empty chair and wonder. I'll wonder if you would have been married, and how fun your wedding would have been! You would have been a beautiful bride!

I also wonder if you would have started a family yet! Maybe you would have had a boy, so Beau wouldn't be the only boy in the family!

I wish so much that your path would have been different, and that tonight, you and your family were at our table!

Everything is so different now. I never imagined that you wouldn't be here. We all took for granted that things would always be the same.

We are all left with the memories and the pain. Please continue to watch over us and keep us safe.
