JEFFERSON TWP— Adam Sharbaugh of Knoch was named Section 2-AABoys Soccer Player of the Year while Freeport's Chris McGrady received the coach of the year honor.

Also earning all-section honors are Ryan McKenzie, Joe Haefner, Andy Knauff and Tanner Panza of Mars; Jordan Kennedy, Travis Tasker and Kevin Wood of Knoch; and Adam Bombalski and Tahlon Kirkland of Freeport.

Ryan Sheestel of Freeport was an honorable mention.

ELLWOOD CITY — The Seneca Valley girls varsity golf team finished with a 9-5 section record and capped the 2008 season with its annual banquet at Connoquenessing Country Club Nov. 8.Sophomores Paige Wojdyla and Jennifer Suder were named co-most valuable players after they led the team with medalist honors and low-scoring average for the season.Senior Kristen Drevna, junior Brooke Arrington and sophomores Stephanie Bullis, Nikki Eaton, Jennifer Suder and Paige Wojdyla received letters.Other golfers recognized for their contributions to the team included sophomores Catherine Bellich, Ashley Kristoff, Mekena Lynch and Jordyn Smith, and freshmen Jayeln Arrington and Emily Wahlstrom.Lynn Wagner is the coach.
