BUTLER TWP— Crystal Chilcott, 15, a sophomore at Butler Intermediate High School, recently won a gold medal in ladies freestyle at the Mount Lebanon U.S. Figure Skating Association Future Champions Series event.
Chilcott also competed with 96 skaters from 11 states at the South Atlantic Regional U.S. Figure Skating Association event in Philadelphia, placing 13th in the qualifying round.
She will skate with her sister, Carissa, 13, in the American Cancer Society's Tribute of Light Ceremony during Pittsburgh's Light Up Night Nov. 21.
Crystal will be a soloist for the Holiday Spectacular Skating Show at 1 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Island Sports Center.
Edinboro University's Josh Bzorek, a graduate of Knoch High, and Slippery Rock University's BrandonFusco, a Seneca Valley graduate, were named first-team All-PSAC West.Bzorek, a senior guard from Saxonburg, and Fusco, a sophomore center from Cranberry Township, were the lone first-team choices from Butler County high schools.SRU had four players make the second team: sophomore running back Ryan Lehmeier, senior defensive lineman Tyler Boudreau, senior defensive back Sam Morant and junior punter Kyle Witman.
