Pittsburgh Promise gets millions for scholarships
PITTSBURGH — Two Pittsburgh foundations say they'll give $13 million to the Pittsburgh Promise college scholarship fund.
The Pittsburgh Foundation is giving $3 million immediately and $5 million over the next nine years and the Buhl Foundation will give $3 million over 10 years. The fund is meant to improve the Pittsburgh Public Schools and stem the exodus of students from them.
