PITTSBURGH — State police are investigating a road rage incident on Interstate 279 in Pittsburgh in which a man punched a woman, prompting her to shoot him.

Police have not charged or released the name of either person in the Sunday afternoon incident.

Police say a woman, 24, cut off a man, 59, in traffic. The man stopped and punched her through a window. That's when the woman shot the man.

He drove to a motel and reported he had been shot.
