PORTERSVILLE— The Portersville/Muddycreek Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual auction at 5 p.m. Saturday at the department, 1141 W. Portersville Road.Donations will be accepted from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight.The Ladies Auxiliary will hold a bake sale and will cater the event.All proceeds benefit the fire department.

St. Paul Roman Catholic Church will hold a fall luncheon and an attic treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus hall on North Street.The event will include door prizes, vendors, a bake sale, a Chinese auction, craft and a 50/50 raffle.
BUTLER TWP— The Above it All hair salon will hold a cut-a-thon from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the salon, 195 New Castle Road. All proceeds will benefit Andrea Zellefrow, who was injured in a September ATVaccident.Snacks, beverages and prizes will be given.
GIBSONIA— Applications are now available for the Miss Butler County 2009 pageant to be held Dec. 7 at the Kean Theatre. Entrants must be at least 17 years old and under 26 on Feb. 1.
