SLIPPERY ROCK— Slippery Rock University senior defensive back Sam Morant was named PSAC-West Defensive Player of the Week after his 12-tackle effort helped The Rock defeat Gannon 24-16 on Saturday.

SHIPPENSBURG— Lock Haven University sophomore and Butler High product Doug Moran scored a goal in the Bald Eagles' 3-0 men's soccer win at Shippensburg Saturday.
Evans City's Jeff Walters won the third heat race prior to Friday's Street Stock Pandemonium Feature at Lernerville Speedway.Walters placed 19th in the 30-lap feature, which was won by Brookville's Rusty Marty.Sarver's Kevin Haas was tenth in the feature.
EAST STROUDSBURG — Greg Knauss kicked a 29-yard field goal in overtime to lift East Stroudsburg to a 44-41 win over Shippensburg on Saturday and give Warriors coach and Slippery Rock University graduate Denny Douds his 213th career victory, a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference record.Douds broke the old PSAC wins record held by Millersville's Gene Carpenter, who won 212 games from 1970-2000.
