Gorbachev to be honored in Philly
PHILADELPHIA — Former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev is in Philadelphia to receive honors tonight even as U.S.-Russian relations hit a cool spot.
Former President George H.W. Bush, chairman of the National Constitution Center, is to present the Liberty Medal to Gorbachev for his role in ending the Cold War. The award comes with a $100,000 prize.
