The William A. DiCuccio Memorial Essay Contest will be held once again in three high schools. This year's topic is: "What qualities should a voter look for in a candidate for political office?"

Any student in grades nine through 12 at Butler, Knoch or Moniteau schools is eligible to submit an entry. Each entry must be typed or computer generated on a standard sheet of paper and must not exceed 500 words. Spelling, punctuation and grammar will be judged along with the content of the essay.

The Butler Rotary Club must receive all essays by Oct. 17.

The scholarship committee of the Rotary Club will select the top three essays, and no essays will be returned.

The winning entry will be published in the Butler Eagle.

Cash awards will be presented to top three winners. The third place entry will receive $100, the second place entry will receive $200 and the first place entry will receive $300.

Relatives of members of the two Rotary Clubs of Butler are not eligible to enter. Entry instructions are available in each school.
