Lawrence B. Smyers, Jr.
In memory of my loving husband Lawrence B. Smyers, Jr., who passed away
two years ago September 6, 2006.
Time passes by so slowly
When someone you love is gone.
Our hearts keep aching
As the clock of life ticks on.
If I could have a lifetime wish
a dream that would come true
I'd pray for God with all my heart
for yesterday and you.
A thousand words can't bring you back
I know because I've tried
and neither will a million tears
I know because I've cried.
You left behind my broken heart
and happy memories too
I never wanted memories...
I only wanted you.
If only I could see your smile
To sit with you and talk awhile
Of things we used to say and do
I miss it all and I miss you
Years may wipe out many things
But this they wipe out never
The memory of those happy days
When we were together.
