Those who want to hear new halftime shows for the Butler High School Golden Tornado Marching Band and six other area high schools can attend the Butler County Band Festival, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Butler High School stadium. Admission is $5.

As well as marching in this year's Veterans Day and Spirit of Christmas parades in Butler, the Golden Tornado will march Oct. 11 in the Fort Ligonier Days parade inLigioner and in Orlando, Fla., Dec. 29 and 30 in the Disney Magic Kingdom Parade and the Citrus Bowl Parade.

With about 300 members, the Golden Tornado is among the largest high school bands in the nation.
