Signs stolen from where boy drowned

ERIE — Police say someone stole the "no swimming" signs near a creek-fed pool in northwestern Pennsylvania where a 9-year-old boy drowned.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook says Jalen Jordan, of Erie, drowned at Frontier Park in Erie Monday afternoon. The boy's friends say he couldn't swim but jumped anyway into a 15-foot deep pool that is fed by a creek running through the park.

Police chief Steve Franklin says the pool and the creek are posted as "no swimming areas" but residents say that prohibition is often ignored.
