Fellow driver helps endangered Felmlee

Thanks to Sprint driver Andy McKisson for his quick thinking and courageous help at Lernerville last week after the Sprint heat!

The fuel line on Bob Femlee's No. 6 6 Sprint broke. He did not feel any fuel hitting him until he took the checkered flag and slowed down. Felmlee then started to get wet and the car burst into flames.

He quickly pulled into the infield. Noticing the fire, McKisson stopped his Sprint in turn three and ran to the area. He pulled Felmlee out of the car and helped to extinguish the flame.

Felmlee was sent to West Penn. hospital last Friday and was released Saturday morning. He had second degree burns on his right ankle, leg, knee, and a few burns on his neck and face.

Though it is a little bit painful for him, he is a lucky man. Felmlee goes back to West Penn Hospital today for a checkup.

Saturday night, McKisson scored a well-deserved career first 20-lap Sprint car victory at Mercer in just his second start there.

In victory lane, when asked about his valiant effort Friday night, McKisson replied, "I don't want any heroism or anything like that for last night at Lernerville, but just giving him (Felmlee) respect and trying to help him out and hope someday someone would do that for me if I was in that situation."
