American Heritage Showcase planned
The 2008 Butler Farm Show American Heritage Showcase will display more than 150 exhibits of household and personal items and farm equipment. Demonstrations will be included.
This exhibit will run from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily at the State Police Building on the east side of the Farm Show grounds.
Each section is devoted to a specific part of daily life on the farm. The goal is to educate people on how farming was done in the early days of Butler County and show how it relates to the present and future.
Oren Hutchinson started the show in 1983 with some antique tractors and a few other items. The show grew considerably and soon became a mainstay of the Farm Show.
Hutchinson died in 2005 and his wife, Sandra Hutchinson, intends to keep his project alive and growing.
