SHARON — The Pennsylvania Game Commission charged a Sharon woman with selling feathers of protected birds on the Internet.
Game commission officials said Candas Lynn Rohrdanz is charged with unlawful selling and possession of wildlife parts of protected birds.
She faces fines ranging from $75 to $200 for nine of the charges and from $100 to $300 for a 10th alleged violation.
Game commission officials said they bought from Rohrdanz feathers from a red-shouldered hawk, crow, blackbird, Canada goose, gull, blue jay, barred owl, turkey and wild turkey.
The Associated Press could not immediately locate a listed telephone number for Rohrdanz.
CORRY — Police said an impatient drunken driver twice rammed his car into another vehicle while waiting to be served at a drive-thru lane at a McDonald's restaurant.Corry police said 27-year-old Matthew Roseberry of Erie is charged with drunken driving, reckless endangerment and other crimes.They said Roseberry was angry because he had to wait in line before he smashed into the car in front of him about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.The Associated Press could not immediately locate a telephone listed in Roseberry's name.
PHILADELPHIA — Five Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders are to leave Sunday to entertain U.S. troops in Iraq.Team director of cheerleading Barbara Zaun said it isn't the first time Eagles cheerleaders have entertained troops overseas. The Eagles previously sent cheerleaders to Bosnia and Kosovo. She said other NFL teams have sent cheerleaders to Iraq.Some dance routines are planned, along with trivia contests and giveaways of Eagles gear, and possibly singing.Cheerleader Kjersti Soberg said she's "more than excited" about the trip. She said many of those serving haven't seen American civilians for a long time and she wants to be "that breath of fresh air."
