PHILADELPHIA — Authorities said a Northeast Philadelphia man used his company's credit card to illegally pocket some $13,000 by selling gasoline at half price to other motorists.

Police said Michael Myers filled the tanks of dozens of vehicles until an accountant noticed the suspicious charges and notified police about the "Robin Hood" gas scam.

Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Anthony Gil said Myers swiped the card once, pumped gas into his own car, then handed the hose to the next person who gave him half the money for the sale.

Officials said Myers did it dozens of times between November and January.

Gil said Myers kept the money he received from the other drivers.

Myers is facing charges of theft, receiving stolen property and related offenses.
